Science

Continuing our work on Forces, we have been looking at the forces 'push' and 'pull'. As well as discussing which forces we use when playing with toys. We also went on a hunt around the classroom to see which objects we push and pull.

 

Humanities

This week, we had a great learning experience with old toys. The children had to use their language skills to explain how to use the old toys.

Thai Culture day

We have started our work on 'forces' and have been looking at how magnets work. The children were amazed at the invisible forces that magnets possess.

Art

Following on from our work on fairy tales, we have decided to build a fairy tale land for our new display. It will have a castle, dark woods and bridge. Characters will be made very soon!

Literacy

This week, we have been continuing our work on fairy tales, and looked at the story 'Goldilocks and the 3 bears'. The children had great fun making puppets and acting out the various parts.

Chris Whyte workshop

This Tuesday, we had an exciting visitor to Ascot school. Chris Whyte, who is a poet, came to discuss poetry and writing tips. The children enjoyed his enthusiastic and energetic approach to poetry!

 

Class assembly

This week we proudly performed our version of the story 'The Little red riding hood'. It was in relation to what we have covered in literacy on 'fairy tales'. It was a great event with lots of laughs, action and scary big bad wolves!
