This week our focus shifted on to being able to learn and deliver lines to an audience. We focused on projecting our voices and delivering the lines with confidence.

Next week we will continue to focus on delivering our lines to the audience and our acting skills.We will also be thinking about how poetry can influence people in conjunction with our UOI work

Maths

Written Addition & Subtraction and Factors
This week we focused on the written compact method of adding and subtracting 5 digit numbers. We also investigated patterns, revised factors carried out a factors investigation.

Fractions
Next week we will be working with fractions.
Adding and subtracting fractions with the same or similar denominators and converting answers to a mixed number. We shall revise multiplying fractions by whole numbers.

Unit of Inquiry

How we express ourselves
This week we began to think about how we express ourselves. Along with preparing for our upcoming production, we will started to think of the different ways we express ourselves and what are the messages people take from the different means of expression.

How we express ourselves
Next week we will start sorting out and going further into how songs, words, images and pictures can be used to target certain audiences. The context for our inquiry will be
Band Aid and the LIve Aid concerts of the mid 1980’s.

Last week we focused on our persuasive writing assessment and carried out science experiments.We began to write up how we carried out the experiments, what we found and analysed the data.

Science Week - What affects the rate at which a spinner falls?
The question that drove this investigation was, what affects the rate at which a spinner falls.
We made our predictions, our spinners and them tested them, recording our data in a table in our books.

Science Week - Can you weigh air?
We began with the question, can you weigh air? Following that we investigated our question using balloons ,wool, rulers and Sellotape. Our conclusion was that, yes , you can weigh air.
