Diamond Jubilee 2012

To celebrate the 60 years of Queen Elizabeth II's reign, we had a tea party with all the decorations!
 


Numeracy

This week we have been looking at odds and evens.

We have been looking at the story 'Where the wild things are'. We even made masks and had a wild rumpus just like in the story!

Art

We have built some nature sculptures out of sticks, leaves and stones we found in the playground.

 

Science

This week, we were investigating what is transparent, translucent and opaque. The children had a wonderful time using flashlights for their investigations.

Art

Continuing our work on sculptures and natural materials, we have made some bean and seed pictures. The children were asked to carefully plan their work and created some interesting owls!
 


Humanities

This week in Humanities, we have looked at countries neighbouring or close to Thailand. The children had an exciting flag matching activity to carry out!
 


Literacy

We have continued our hard work on non-fiction texts and how they are used to give information on far away countries. We had a look at Brazil, Australia and Egypt!

Science

Continuing our work on the theme 'Light and dark', we decided to search for sources of light within the primary building!



Numeracy

As we have been looking at handling data, the children were asked to work in groups to show a Venn diagram of nocturnal and day animals. There was lots of enthusiastic discussion about how to sort the animals!
 


Art

Recently, we have been looking at sculptures, and in Art this week, we have gather natural materials from outside to make nature sculptures!
