International Day

International Day was great fun. Y2K tasted Scottish foods and made their own tartan kilts. They took their passports and traveled around the other classes to Egypt, Mexico and the Netherlands. Making lots of crafts and learning games.

Lunch was also a feast from around the world with many home-made dishes provided. Thank you!

Mrs Khaokham brought lots of foods to taste

Design & Technology Project

Y2K thought of types of vehicles they might make and then learned about the parts of vehicles to help them with their own designs.

They had to consider what materials could be used to make moving wheels. Then plan, make and evaluate their designs.

Literacy - Poetry

First Y2K thought of lots of adjectives related to Valentines Day. Next these were used to create Acrostic Poems.

Data Handling

Y2K began a new Numeracy topic today. We collected information from the class to create a tally chart and a pictogram. Tomorrow the children will create their own charts and label them.

We are learning to organise information using tally charts, pictograms and bar charts.

Chinese New Year

Here Y2K are making decorated paper lanterns after watching the Chinese New Year celebrations.

They learned about some of the associated customs and the story of the Chinese lunar year characters.

ICT

During Literacy Y2K wrote a recount about their sports day fun, the medals and certificates that they had won.

We then went to the ICT suite to create a Sports Day News page.

The writers had to include features of a report including a headline, illustrations and suitable punctuation.
