This week, we will create our own instructional texts and have a big write using what we have learned.
Next week, we will start our final unit on The Highwayman, a long poem which the students will read through and comprehend.
Math
Understand, read and write 2-place decimals; compare 2-place decimals in the context of lengths; add and subtract 0·1 and 0·01 and say a number one-tenth (0·1) or one-hundredth (0·01) more or less than a given number; revise equivalent fractions; write fractions with different denominators with a total of 1; recognise decimal and fraction equivalents
Add two 2-digit numbers or a 2-digit number to a 3- or 4-digit number mentally; subtract 2-, 3- and 4-digit numbers using counting up; derive factors of 2-digit numbers and use factors and doubling to solve multiplication mentally; solve integer scaling problems using mental strategies and spot a relationship between products; solve correspondence problems, using a systematic approach and calculate using mental multiplication strategies
Theme
For Theme we will sort out the information we have gathered and decide upon a course of action in terms of what businesses we would like to set up.
Next week, we will go further into our inquiry and look at how we can use this information for ourselves and within our community.

This week we look at our Theme topic and see how Science can be used to investigate further.
Next week, we will look at the different links between Businesses as our theme topic and Science investigation
Art
This week we will create our own logos for our own businesses that we are creating in Inquiry.
Next week we will look at our logos again and critique them and see how they can be improved.
PSHE
In PSHE, we will at changing around some of our class jobs and making our classroom cleaner and more effective.
Next week, we will look at the positives that have happened this term as well as trying to think of ways to make next term better.

Y4 Weekly Update: May 23th to 27th, 2016

This week, we will create our own instructional texts and have a big write using what we have learned. 
Next week, we will start our unit on The Higwayman by listening to this epic poem and discussing the rhyme scheme as well as the story and what makes it so dramatic.
Math
Reviewing over the work that we have done as well as doing our half term tests.

Art
This week we will look at our logos again and critique them and see how they can be improved.
