English
This week, we are looking at our new topic Persuasive texts in which students will need to write a piece on an invention and explain why it is important.
Next week, we will be starting our new unit called Stories With Historical settings, where we will read and listen to the story of Oliver Twist, a famous novel by Charles Dickens.
Math
Use mental multiplication and division strategies; find non-unit fractions of 2-digit and 3-digit numbers; find equivalent fractions and use them to simplify fractions (halves, thirds, quarters)
Recognise and compare acute, right and obtuse angles; draw lines of a given length; identify perpendicular and parallel lines; recognise and draw line symmetry in shapes; sort 2D shapes according to their properties; draw shapes with given properties and explain reasoning; draw the other half of symmetrical shapes
Humanities
For Humanities, we will learn about what causes flooring and examine different materials and how they affect flooding.
Next week, we will look at hurricanes and things we should do if a hurricane is ever upon us, including making our own hurricane survival kit.
Science
This week we will look at different types of resistance including water resistance and how to measure it.
Next week we will look at how different types of resistance affects us in our daily lives and how we can reduce and produce different types of resistance.
Art
In Art, we will finish making our inventions and write a piece about them so that people know how they work.
This week, we will show our inventions to the class and present them as well as critique them
PSHE
In PSHE, we will look at Kindness Week and what some kind deeds we can do, not just this week but all the time.
Next week we will look at the positives that have happened this term as well as trying to think of ways to make next term better.

This week, we have finished writing our Explanation texts based on the comics of Wallace and Gromit.
Next week, we are looking at our new topic Persuasive texts in which students will need to write a piece on an invention and explain why it is important.
Math
Look at place value in decimals and the relationship between tenths and decimals; add two 4-digit numbers; practise written and mental addition methods; use vertical addition to investigate patterns
Convert multiples of 100 g into kilograms; convert multiples of 100 ml into litres; read scales to the nearest 100 ml; estimate capacities; draw bar charts, record and interpret information
Humanities
For Humanities, we will look at will learn facts about tornadoes, their features and survival techniques.
Next week, we will will learn about what causes
flooring and examine different materials and how
they affect flooding.
Science
This week we will look at how to use a Newton meter to measure horizontal force and to design a fair test.
Next week we will look at different types of resistance including water resistance and how to measure it.
Art
In Art, we will start to make our inventions that we designed the previous week by bringing recycled materials to school.
This week, we will finish making our inventions and write a piece about them so that people know how they work.
PSHE
In PSHE, we will look at our camp and writing letters of thank you to those people that organised it as well as looked after us during our stay.
Next week we will look at the positives that have happened this term as well as trying to think of ways to make next term better.
