House Colours Day

Dear parents,

This Friday 27th September will be our house colours day. Please remember that your child will need to wear their house colours shirt and their PE shorts and trainers.

If your child does not yet have a house colours shirt then please contact the class teacher.

Many thanks for your continued support,

The KS1 team

Numeracy

In Numeracy we have been using a 100 square to help with addition calculations. Next we will be trying subtraction from a two digit number.

Science Investigation

 Y2K investigated the question:

Do taller children always have the biggest feet?

First the children had to measure each others foot size and also their height.

Next we gathered all of the information to make a chart.

The results showed that it was not  always the case and also demonstrated to the class the need for accurate measurements!

Literacy - Super Hero Comic Strip

The children have considered the story structure and format for a comic strip and begun to write their own.

Next they will use a paint program in ICT to create, save and print a final version .

Active Learning In Phonics

Degan got a merit for the longest word.

The children put their knowledge of phonics to good use. They worked in teams to find the most most English words using a combination of phonics sound cubes.

They really concentrated taking tests for numeracy, spelling and reading.

Literacy: Reading Buddies

We are very lucky to have been visited by the Year 8 students. Children in Y2K will have a Year 8 reading buddy to help guide them through some extra reading. Fantastic!
