Parents Craft Afternoon

On Friday, we hosted our first craft afternoon where we invited parents into school to provide them with a firsthand insight into their children’s learning. Another aim for the afternoon was for us as teachers to get to know the families of our pupils, we enjoyed this very much. We hope that you all had fun and we look forward to working with you more throughout the year.

As our topic this half-term has been India, we decided to base our craft making on a The Jaipur Elephant Festival. This begins with a beautiful procession of elephants made up with vibrant colors, jhools (saddle cloth) and heavy jewellery. The most beautifully decorated elephant is awarded with a prize.

Somehow,we worked together to transform used milk bottles into the most magnificent elephants I have ever seen. All of the elephants were very unique and it was great to observe the fantastic teamwork happening amongst the different tables.

Thank you to all parents, grandparents, elder brothers and sisters who took the time to attend. The children had a wonderful afternoon and I hope that you did too.
