House colours day

This Friday, we had our house colours day, introducing the new houses. We learnt all about the history behind our houses, took part in a house crest design competition and finally had some time to make some exciting crafts.

This week in Literacy, we have been looking at adjectives and poems that use adjectives for specific purposes. The children had a wonderful time feeling hidden objects and selecting the appropriate adjectives to use.

Humanities

This week in Humanities, we have been learning about people who help us, such as the police, doctors and fire officers.

Literacy

This week in Literacy, we have been looking at the story 'Lost and found'. We made a storyboard and planned our writing.

Numeracy

This week in Numeracy, we have been looking at Patterns. We began with making patterns in shapes, colour and then looking at how patterns in numbers occur when spotting odd and even numbers.

 

Literacy

This week during our Literacy, the children went on a bear hunt to find our lost mascot, Mr. Teddy. We searched high and low for Mr. Teddy and the work that we have done can be seen on our new display!

 

Numeracy

This week in Numeracy, we began with simple addition and progressed to learning about 'Doubles'. The children loved using playing cards to find their double!

 

Literacy

This week in Literacy, we have been looking at the story 'Where's my Teddy'. The children enjoyed discussing the story and created their very own storyboards!

This week in Literacy, we have been looking at the story 'Can't you sleep, Little bear?' We discussed what it was like for Little bear to be afraid and how Big bear found different ways to help him!

 

Humanities

This week in Humanities, we have been learning about different places around the school. So we had a treasure hunt following different clues to different places around the school.
