The Big Picture - Week 12
Another week, another truly incredible educational journey. From learning about marine dinosaurs, writing our own stories from imaginary worlds, reading with Early Years students, to investigating who in our class has fractured a bone; it has been fantastic. Please, enjoy the photos and have a wonderful day.

English

This week we created
our own individual stories based on The Legend of the Wawel Dinosaur. We planned
our stories with our own settings, characters and plots. We then displayed our stories as a
story map. Come along and see the display.
Next week, we will
be starting our unit on informational texts. We will look at how to create
the structure of a news article and tie it in with dinosaurs.
Math
In Maths we revised
over what the students will need to know for their reviews next week
including timestables and other forms of calculation.
In Maths we will have
two Maths reviews. The first is on Tuesday and the second on Wednesday.
Humanities
For Humanities, we
looked at different flying reptiles including how big they were as well
as where they were found.
Next week, we will
look at dinosaurs that lived in the sea and how they managed to survive in
prehistoric times.
Science
This week, we looked
at the different muscles that we have in our bodies, how they work and how to
look after them. We also made a lung from a bottle and looked at how it
inflates and deflates.
Next week, we will
look closer at xrays and bone fractures with an experiment on muscle tension.
Art
In Art,
we started making our own dinosaur dioramas out of a shoebox. We will
also look at ways to make the shoebox into a realistic habitat for different
dinosaurs.

Next week, we will
finish off making our dinosaur dioramas.

PSHE

This week, we looked
at what issues are important to bring to the teacher and what issues the
students should be able to sort out themselves.

Next week we will
look at the positives that have happened to students in our class as well as
things that we can do to improve our class
