This week, we will start our new unit on Stories that Raise Issues and Concerns featuring the stories of Australian author Paul Jennings
|
Next week, we will create our own story featuring issues relevant to us as a class and work on changing our own selected Paul Jennings story.

Math
|
Read, write and compare 4-digit numbers and place on a line; find 1000 more or less than any given number; read, write and compare 5-digit numbers; recognise what each digit represents in a 5-digit number; read, use and compare negative numbers in the context of temperature

Multiply and divide numbers by 10 and 100 including decimals (tenths and hundredths); read and write decimals (to 1 and 2 places), understanding that these represent parts (tenths and hundredths) of numbers; mark 1- and 2- place decimals on a line; count in tenths (0.1s) and hundredths (0.01s); multiply numbers with up to 2 decimal places by 10 and 100, and divide numbers by 10 and 100; say the number one tenth and one hundredth more or less than a given number; round decimal numbers to the nearest whole number

Theme

For Theme we will look at what a business is and the different ideas and questions that students have about them.

Next week, we will case study different businesses and take notes on how they are different.

Science
|
This week we look at our Theme topic and see how Science can be used to investigate further.

Next week, we will look at the different links between Businesses as our theme topic and Science investigation
|
Art
|
This week, we will make business collages of different businesses with their logos. Students should bring their own cartyons/newspaper clippings to school to use.

Next week, we will finish our businesses collage and prepare them for display.
|
PSHE
|
In PSHE, we will at changing around some of our class jobs and making our classroom cleaner and more effective.
|
Next week, we will look at the positives that have happened this term as well as trying to think of ways to make next term better.
